Help & FAQ
Answers to common questions about LearnRank.
Getting started
What is LearnRank?▼
LearnRank is an AI-powered content generator for educators. It creates lesson plans, activities, quizzes, rubrics, energizers, and analogies tailored to your subject, grade level, and curriculum framework — in seconds.
How do I generate my first lesson?▼
Sign in, click "+ New content" from your dashboard, choose a generator type, fill in the form, and click Generate. Your content is saved automatically and appears in your dashboard.
What subjects and grade levels are supported?▼
Any subject — the subject field is free text. Grade levels follow your chosen region: US (K–12 + college) or Philippines (K–12 + senior high). You can also enter a specific curriculum standard code.
Generators
What is the difference between a Lesson Plan and an Activity?▼
A Lesson Plan is a full teaching sequence: objectives, warm-up, instruction, practice, and assessment. An Activity is a single standalone task — useful for homework, in-class exercises, or supplementary practice.
What does the Curriculum Framework field do?▼
It tells the AI which standards system to align the content to (e.g. Common Core, NGSS, DepEd K–12). The AI references the framework when writing objectives and choosing examples.
What is a Standard or Competency Code?▼
An optional specific code from your curriculum framework, such as CCSS.MATH.8.EE.A.1. When provided, the AI targets that exact standard. Leave it blank to let the framework guide the content more broadly.
Can I edit the content after it's generated?▼
Yes. Every generated item has a built-in block editor. You can edit any section, reorder blocks, and save changes. All edits are versioned — you can restore any previous version from the history panel.
Exports & sharing
What formats can I export to?▼
Four formats: Word (DOCX), PowerPoint (PPTX), plain text (TXT), and Markdown (compatible with Notion, Google Docs, and most editors). Quizzes have two export versions: Student (no answers) and Teacher (with answers and answer key).
Why are answer keys excluded from the student quiz export?▼
The Student export is designed to be handed directly to students, so answer keys are omitted. Use the Teacher export to print or project the answer key for grading.
Can I share content with students or parents?▼
Yes. Open any generated item and click Share to create a read-only link. Anyone with the link can view the content in their browser — no account or login required. It works for all six content types, and the page never exposes your dashboard or edit controls.
How do I stop sharing something?▼
Open the item, click Share, then Revoke. The link stops working immediately and returns a "not found" page. You can generate a fresh link again at any time.
Billing
How do credits work?▼
Each AI generation costs 5 credits, regardless of content type. Free accounts get 50 credits per month. Starter ($4.99/mo) includes 500 credits and Pro ($9.99/mo) includes 1,000 credits.
What happens when I run out of credits?▼
You'll see a message on the dashboard and the generate button will be disabled until your credits refresh next month. You can upgrade your plan at any time.
Can I cancel anytime?▼
Yes. Go to Settings and click "Manage billing." You'll be taken to the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel your subscription. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
Troubleshooting
Generation is taking a long time — is that normal?▼
Most generations are ready in 15–30 seconds, and a spinner shows while one is in progress. If a generation ever fails or times out, your 5 credits are refunded automatically — just press Try again from the "Didn't finish" section on your dashboard.
The generated content doesn't match my standard — what should I do?▼
Try entering the specific standard code in the Standard/Competency Code field. If the content is still off, use the block editor to refine the objectives section and regenerate practice problems manually.
